Perspective

Alex: Personally, this is probably my favorite song I ever wrote. It’s simple sure, but the idea of perspective is a very important one to my brain. I value empathy and trying to understand others. I’ve always liked the line “This indecision pushes me until I’m too far from home”. As a card carrying member of the social anxiety club, I overthink everything and become stuck which ironically pushes me further from my true goals!

The idea behind the video was a meta perspective that we, as humans, think everything right now is the most important thing. But we've been around for a very long time. So I liked the idea of showing these old monuments and statues kind of staring at us as we run about like ants thinking we're doing serious things. We forget history.

My birthday is in November, and yes, I have grown too old to fight

Crowded images, moving around

Making all those strange sounds

Just another lifeless town

I thought I was safe alone

But the walls kept staring

And I wish I could fly away

As the roof breaks apart

Breaks apart

And it might just be a smile

But your eyes begin to fade

We calmly shake hands and fall

When I want perspective

Of this mess called life

I climb my favorite hill

And watch the sunrise

Sunrise

Too many words to hold

Losing my balance once again

November has grown angry

I've grown too old to fight

Too old to fight

This indecision pushes me

Until I'm too far from home

Seems I've lost my destiny

My fate is not my own

My own

When I want perspective

Of this mess called life

I climb my favorite hill

And watch the sunrise

The sunrise

When I want perspective

Of this mess called life

I climb my favorite hill

And watch the sunrise

Perspective

Perspective

I like pizza.
